The wise observer of a vow (vrati) should, in proper order, offer fire sticks (samidh) and cooked oblation (caru) (into the fire). This should be done with devotion (bhakti), using the Savitṛ `mantra` (for Savitā), and also (for) Soma and the cow, by means of (appropriate) `mantra`s.
