कलां कलां गृहीत्वा तु देवानां विश्वकर्मणा ।
निर्मितोऽयं स वै यस्मात् कलशस्तेन कथ्यते ॥१८१॥

181. kalāṁ kalāṁ gṛhītvā tu devānāṁ viśvakarmaṇā ,

yasmāt ayam sa vai viśvakarmaṇā devānām kalām kalām gṛhītvā nirmitai,
tasmāt kalaśaḥ kathyate
tasmāt kalaśaḥ kathyate
181. Because it was fashioned by Vishvakarma by taking a portion of energy from each of the gods, therefore it is called a kalasha.
