महानिर्वाण-तन्त्रम्       mahānirvāṇa-tantram - chapter-10, verse-59

दैवादितो द्विजान् पिण्डान् विसृजेत्तदनन्तरम् ।
तथैव दक्षिणां कुर्यात् पक्षेषु त्रिषु तत्त्ववित् ॥५९॥
59. daivādito dvijān piṇḍān visṛjettadanantaram ,
tathaiva dakṣiṇāṁ kuryāt pakṣeṣu triṣu tattvavit.
59. daivāt itaḥ dvijān piṇḍān visṛjet tad-anantaram
tathā eva dakṣiṇām kuryāt pakṣeṣu triṣu tattvavit
59. tattvavit daivāt itaḥ tad anantaram dvijān piṇḍān visṛjet,
tathā eva triṣu pakṣeṣu dakṣiṇām kuryāt
59. Following divine ordinance, the one who knows the truth should then offer food balls to brahmins, and likewise present gifts during the three fortnights.
