वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-47, verse-18

यद्यधर्मो न बलवान् स्यादयं राक्षसेश्वरः ।
स्यादयं सुरलोकस्य सशक्रस्यापि रक्षिता ॥१८॥
18. yadyadharmo na balavān syādayaṃ rākṣaseśvaraḥ ,
syādayaṃ suralokasya saśakrasyāpi rakṣitā.
18. yadi adharmaḥ na balavān syāt ayam rākṣaseśvaraḥ
syāt ayam suralokasya saśakrasya api rakṣitā
18. yadi ayam rākṣaseśvaraḥ adharmaḥ balavān na syāt
ayam saśakrasya suralokasya api rakṣitā syāt
18. If this lord of the rākṣasas were not mighty in unrighteousness (adharma), he would be the protector of the world of the gods, even including Indra.
