महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-18, verse-6

ततः पुत्रसहस्रं तु कद्रूर्जिह्मं चिकीर्षती ।
आज्ञापयामास तदा वाला भूत्वाञ्जनप्रभाः ॥६॥
6. tataḥ putrasahasraṁ tu kadrūrjihmaṁ cikīrṣatī ,
ājñāpayāmāsa tadā vālā bhūtvāñjanaprabhāḥ.
6. tataḥ putrasahasram tu kadrūḥ jihmam cīkīrṣatī
ājñāpayāmāsa tadā vālāḥ bhūtvā añjanaprabhāḥ
6. Then, Kadru, intending to act deceitfully, commanded her thousand sons at that time to become like black hairs.
