करिष्यामीति संश्रुत्य प्रतिज्ञां हातुमर्हसि ।
स भवान्केसरी भूत्वा मृगतामिव वाञ्छसि ॥ २ ॥

kariṣyāmīti saṃśrutya pratijñāṃ hātumarhasi ,
sa bhavānkesarī bhūtvā mṛgatāmiva vāñchasi 2

2. kariṣyāmi iti saṃśrutya pratijñām hātum arhasi
saḥ bhavān kesarī bhūtvā mṛgatām iva vāñchasi

2. After having solemnly promised 'I will do it', do you intend to abandon your vow? It is as if you, having become a lion, now desire the state of a mere deer.
