evamastu gurau tasminnupaviṣṭe mahātmani ,
tena pṛṣṭaḥ kathāḥ puṇyā vakṣyāmi vividhāśrayāḥ.

Sūta said: 'So be it! When that great-souled teacher is seated, I shall narrate, in response to his questions, sacred stories dealing with various subjects.'
