कुलार्णव-तन्त्रम्       kulārṇava-tantram - chapter-9, verse-43

तुषेण बद्धो व्रीहिः स्यात्तुषाभावे हि तण्डुलः ।
कर्मबद्धः स्मृतो जीवः कर्ममुक्तः सदाशिवः ॥४३॥
43. tuṣeṇa baddho vrīhiḥ syāttuṣābhāve hi taṇḍulaḥ ,
karmabaddhaḥ smṛto jīvaḥ karmamuktaḥ sadāśivaḥ.

43. Rice grain is bound by its husk, but when the husk is absent, it is simply cleaned rice. Similarly, the individual soul is considered bound by karma, and when freed from karma, it is Sadashiva.
