mantrī yāvat ātma-sthāna-anu-dravya-deva-śuddhiḥ tu pañcamī na kurute,

16. As long as the practitioner does not accomplish the fivefold purification - consisting of the purification of the place of the self, subsequence, substances, and deities - how can there be the worship of the deities?
