If the subtle impression (vāsanā) of the giver of natural law (dharma) is activated, then by that (vāsanā), the consciousness of the deceased (pretamatiḥ) is gradually satisfied. If it is not, then the situation becomes inauspicious because of the deceased's mind (pretadhī).
