भगवन्पिण्डदानादिवासनारहिताकृतिः ।
कीदृक्संपद्यते जीवः पिण्डो यस्मै न दीयते ॥ २६ ॥

bhagavanpiṇḍadānādivāsanārahitākṛtiḥ ,
kīdṛksaṃpadyate jīvaḥ piṇḍo yasmai na dīyate 26

Śrī Rāma said: O Lord, what kind of individual soul (jīva) becomes one whose form is devoid of latent impressions (vāsanā) regarding ancestral offerings (piṇḍadāna) and such, that is, a soul to whom no ancestral offering is made?
