योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-56, verse-25

तथा स्ववासनान्तस्थमभीष्टं परिपश्यति ।
जीवो जातिशताढ्योऽपि भ्रमे परिगतोऽपि सन् ॥ २५ ॥
tathā svavāsanāntasthamabhīṣṭaṃ paripaśyati ,
jīvo jātiśatāḍhyo'pi bhrame parigato'pi san 25
25. tathā svavāsanāntastham abhīṣṭam paripaśyati
jīvaḥ jātiśatāḍhyaḥ api bhrame parigataḥ api san
25. tathā jīvaḥ jātiśatāḍhyaḥ api bhrame parigataḥ
api san svavāsanāntastham abhīṣṭam paripaśyati
25. Similarly, the individual soul (jīva), even though having undergone hundreds of births and being enveloped in delusion, clearly perceives its cherished object situated within its own latent impressions (vāsanā).
