योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-9, verse-12

युष्मदादिप्रणीतेन व्यवहारेण जन्तवः ।
मर्यादां न विमुञ्चन्ति तां न हातुं त्वमर्हसि ॥ १२ ॥
yuṣmadādipraṇītena vyavahāreṇa jantavaḥ ,
maryādāṃ na vimuñcanti tāṃ na hātuṃ tvamarhasi 12
12. yuṣmat ādi praṇītena vyavahāreṇa jantavaḥ
maryādām na vimuñcanti tām na hātum tvam arhasi
12. Ordinary beings do not abandon the proper conduct (maryādā) established by those like you. You, too, should not abandon that (maryādā).
