The creator of beings (bhūtakṛt), seizing these qualities (guṇa) through the ego (ahaṅkāra), thus creates the primeval elements (bhūtādi). This ego (vaikārika), being subject to modification, causes all this to function and, by its own inherent power, illuminates the world.
