महानिर्वाण-तन्त्रम्       mahānirvāṇa-tantram - chapter-13, verse-171

इत्यष्टौ नागनामानि लिखित्वाऽश्वत्थपल्लवे ।
स्मृत्वा प्रणवगायत्र्यौ घटमध्ये विनिःक्षिपेत् ॥१७१॥
171. ityaṣṭau nāganāmāni likhitvā'śvatthapallave ,
smṛtvā praṇavagāyatryau ghaṭamadhye viniḥkṣipet.

smṛtvā praṇava-gāyatryau ghaṭa-madhye viniḥkṣipet

171. Having thus written the eight names of the serpents on a peepul leaf, and having remembered the praṇava and the gāyatrī, one should place it inside a water pot.
