योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-56, verse-40

श्रीराम उवाच ।
देशकालादिना ब्रह्मन्वासना समुदेति चेत् ।
तन्महाकल्पसर्गादौ देशकालादयः कुतः ॥ ४० ॥
śrīrāma uvāca ,
deśakālādinā brahmanvāsanā samudeti cet ,
tanmahākalpasargādau deśakālādayaḥ kutaḥ 40
40. śrīrāmaḥ uvāca deśakālādina brahman vāsanā sam_udeti
cet tat mahākalpasargādau deśakālādayaḥ kutaḥ
40. śrīrāmaḥ uvāca he brahman,

40. Śrī Rāma said: "O Brahman, if latent impressions (vāsanā) arise due to factors like space and time, then from where do these factors like space and time themselves come at the beginning of a great cosmic creation (mahākalpasarga)?"
