वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-22, verse-38

राक्षसेन्द्रान्नियच्छाद्य दण्डमेनं वधोद्यतम् ।
सत्यं मम कुरुष्वेदं लोकांस्त्वं समवेक्ष्य च ॥३८॥
38. rākṣasendrānniyacchādya daṇḍamenaṃ vadhodyatam ,
satyaṃ mama kuruṣvedaṃ lokāṃstvaṃ samavekṣya ca.
38. rākṣasendrāt niyaccha adya daṇḍam enam vadha udyatam
satyam mama kuruṣva idam lokān tvam samavekṣya ca
38. tvam adya rākṣasendrāt enam vadhaudyatam daṇḍam
niyaccha ca lokān samavekṣya mama idam satyam kuruṣva
38. Today, withhold this staff, ready for destruction, from the king of rākṣasas (Rāvaṇa). And, considering the (well-being of the) worlds, uphold this truth of mine.
