वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-22, verse-32

तस्मिन्प्रहर्तुकामे तु दण्डमुद्यम्य रावणम् ।
यमं पितामहः साक्षाद्दर्शयित्वेदमब्रवीत् ॥३२॥
32. tasminprahartukāme tu daṇḍamudyamya rāvaṇam ,
yamaṃ pitāmahaḥ sākṣāddarśayitvedamabravīt.
32. tasmin prahartukāme tu daṇḍam udyamya rāvaṇam
yamam pitāmahaḥ sākṣāt darśayitvā idam abravīt
32. tu yamam rāvaṇam daṇḍam udyamya tasmin prahartukāme

32. But when Yama, having raised his staff, was about to strike Rāvaṇa, the grandfather (pitāmaha) Brahmā himself appeared directly and spoke these words.
