स ज्वालापरिवारस्तु पिबन्निव निशाचरम् ।
करस्पृष्टो बलवता दण्डः क्रुद्धः सुदारुणः ॥३०॥

30. That exceedingly terrible rod (daṇḍa), surrounded by a host of flames, as if devouring the night-prowler (niśācara), became enraged upon being touched by the mighty one's hand.
