वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-94, verse-40

कच्चित्ते दयिताः सर्वे कृषिगोरक्षजीविनः ।
वार्तायां संश्रितस्तात लोको हि सुखमेधते ॥४०॥
40. kaccitte dayitāḥ sarve kṛṣigorakṣajīvinaḥ ,
vārtāyāṃ saṃśritastāta loko hi sukhamedhate.
40. kaccit te dayitāḥ sarve kṛṣi-go-rakṣa-jīvinaḥ
vārtāyām saṃśritaḥ tāta lokaḥ hi sukham edhate
40. tāta kaccit te sarve kṛṣi-go-rakṣa-jīvinaḥ
dayitāḥ hi vārtāyām saṃśritaḥ lokaḥ sukham edhate
40. Dear son, I hope that all those who subsist on agriculture and cattle-rearing are dear to you, for indeed, people who rely on these livelihoods (vārtā) prosper happily.
