वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-9, verse-3

इदं त्विदानीं संपश्य केनोपायेन मन्थरे ।
भरतः प्राप्नुयाद् राज्यं न तु रामः कथं चन ॥३॥
3. idaṃ tvidānīṃ saṃpaśya kenopāyena manthare ,
bharataḥ prāpnuyād rājyaṃ na tu rāmaḥ kathaṃ cana.
3. idam tu idānīm saṃpaśya kena upāyena manthare
bharataḥ prāpnuyāt rājyam na tu rāmaḥ katham cana
3. manthare tu idānīm idam kena upāyena bharataḥ
rājyam prāpnuyāt rāmaḥ tu na katham cana saṃpaśya
3. But now, O Manthara, consider this: by what means Bharata may obtain the kingdom, and Rama should not, by any means.
