वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-34, verse-35

जज्ञे ऽथ तासां संनादः क्रौञ्चीनामिव निःस्वनः ।
मानवेन्द्रस्य भार्याणामेवं वदति राघवे ॥३५॥
35. jajñe'tha tāsāṃ saṃnādaḥ krauñcīnāmiva niḥsvanaḥ ,
mānavendrasya bhāryāṇāmevaṃ vadati rāghave.

mānavendrasya bhāryāṇām evam vadati rāghave

35. Then, as Rāghava was speaking these words, a great clamor, like the cries of female curlews, arose from the wives of the lord of men.
