वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-34, verse-26

मितं ददाति हि पिता मितं माता मितं सुतः ।
अमितस्य हि दातारं भर्तारं का न पूजयेत् ॥२६॥
26. mitaṃ dadāti hi pitā mitaṃ mātā mitaṃ sutaḥ ,
amitasya hi dātāraṃ bhartāraṃ kā na pūjayet.
26. mitam dadāti hi pitā mitam mātā mitam sutaḥ
amitasya hi dātāram bhartāram kā na pūjayet
26. pitā hi mitam dadāti mātā mitam sutaḥ mitam
kā hi amitasya dātāram bhartāram na pūjayet
26. Indeed, a father gives a limited amount, a mother gives a limited amount, and a son gives a limited amount. But who would not honor a husband, the giver of boundless (support/wealth)?
