वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-30, verse-5

पदातिं वर्जितच्छत्रं रामं दृष्ट्वा तदा जनाः ।
ऊचुर्बहुविधा वाचः शोकोपहतचेतसः ॥५॥
5. padātiṃ varjitacchatraṃ rāmaṃ dṛṣṭvā tadā janāḥ ,
ūcurbahuvidhā vācaḥ śokopahatacetasaḥ.

5. Then, having seen Rāma walking on foot and deprived of his royal parasol, the people, whose minds were overcome by sorrow, spoke various kinds of words.
