तपश्च सुमहत्तप्तं राजर्षिरिति मां विदुः ।

8. Although I have performed very great austerities (tapas), and all the gods, along with groups of sages, know me as a royal sage, I believe there is no true fruit (phalam) to these ascetic practices (tapas).
