वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-10, verse-8

तं च राजा दशरथो यष्टुकामः कृताञ्जलिः ।
ऋश्यशृङ्गं द्विजश्रेष्ठं वरयिष्यति धर्मवित् ॥८॥
8. taṃ ca rājā daśaratho yaṣṭukāmaḥ kṛtāñjaliḥ ,
ṛśyaśṛṅgaṃ dvijaśreṣṭhaṃ varayiṣyati dharmavit.
8. tam ca rājā daśarathaḥ yaṣṭu-kāmaḥ kṛta-añjaliḥ
ṛśyaśṛṅgam dvija-śreṣṭham varayiṣyati dharma-vit
8. ca rājā daśarathaḥ dharma-vit yaṣṭu-kāmaḥ kṛta-añjaliḥ
tam dvija-śreṣṭham ṛśyaśṛṅgam varayiṣyati
8. And King Daśaratha, a knower of (dharma), desirous of performing a Vedic ritual (yajña) and with joined palms (kṛtāñjali), will choose Ṛṣyaśṛṅga, the best of the twice-born.
