वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-10, verse-9

यज्ञार्थं प्रसवार्थं च स्वर्गार्थं च नरेश्वरः ।
लभते च स तं कामं द्विजमुख्याद्विशां पतिः ॥९॥
9. yajñārthaṃ prasavārthaṃ ca svargārthaṃ ca nareśvaraḥ ,
labhate ca sa taṃ kāmaṃ dvijamukhyādviśāṃ patiḥ.
9. yajña-artham prasava-artham ca svarga-artham ca nara-īśvaraḥ
labhate ca sa tam kāmam dvija-mukhyāt viśām patiḥ
9. ca nara-īśvaraḥ viśām patiḥ yajña-artham ca prasava-artham
ca svarga-artham tam kāmam dvija-mukhyāt sa labhate
9. And the lord of men (nareśvara), the lord of the people, obtains that desire for the sake of the Vedic ritual (yajña), for the sake of progeny, and for the sake of heaven, from the chief of the twice-born (brahmins).
