बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-88, verse-5

हवनं विष्णुमन्त्रेण स/तमष्टोत्तरं सुधीः ।
ब्राह्मणान् भोजयेत् शक्त्या ततः कल्याणमाप्नुयात् ॥५॥
5. havanaṃ viṣṇumantreṇa sa/tamaṣṭottaraṃ sudhīḥ .
brāhmaṇān bhojayet śaktyā tataḥ kalyāṇamāpnuyāt.
5. havanam viṣṇumantreṇa sahasram aṣṭottaram sudhīḥ
brāhmaṇān bhojayet śaktyā tataḥ kalyāṇam āpnuyāt
5. A wise person (sudhīḥ) should perform a fire ritual (havana) 1008 times with a Vishnu mantra. He should feed Brahmins according to his capacity. Thereafter, he will attain auspiciousness.
