महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-65, verse-60

कौमुद्यां शुक्लपक्षे तु योऽन्नदानं करोत्युत ।
स संतरति दुर्गाणि प्रेत्य चानन्त्यमश्नुते ॥६०॥

60. kaumudyāṁ śuklapakṣe tu yo'nnadānaṁ karotyuta ,
sa saṁtarati durgāṇi pretya cānantyamaśnute.

60. Moreover, whoever performs the giving of food (dāna) during the bright fortnight of the Kaumudī month (Kārtika) overcomes all difficulties, and after death, he attains infinity (ānantya).
