Just as there are gnats and mosquitoes (daṁśa-maśaka), and just as there are fierce ants (caṇḍa-pipīlika), that same state of affairs (vṛtti) exists in non-sacrificial acts (ayajñeṣu). Similarly, natural law (dharma) is ordained.
