महानिर्वाण-तन्त्रम्       mahānirvāṇa-tantram - chapter-4, verse-101

आगमोक्तविधि हित्वा यः श्राद्धं कुरुते नरः ।
श्राद्धं तद्विफलं सोऽपि पितृभिर्नरकं व्रजेत् ॥१०१॥
101. āgamoktavidhi hitvā yaḥ śrāddhaṁ kurute naraḥ ,
śrāddhaṁ tadviphalaṁ so'pi pitṛbhirnarakaṁ vrajet.

101. A man who performs the śrāddha ritual while abandoning the rules prescribed in the scriptures finds that śrāddha to be fruitless, and because of his ancestors, he goes to hell.
