कुलार्णव-तन्त्रम्       kulārṇava-tantram - chapter-12, verse-120

रिक्तहस्तश्च नोपेयाद्राजानं देवतां गुरुम् ।
फलपुष्पाम्बरादीनि यथाशक्त्या समर्पयेत् ॥१२०॥
120. riktahastaśca nopeyādrājānaṁ devatāṁ gurum ,
phalapuṣpāmbarādīni yathāśaktyā samarpayet.

phala-puṣpa-ambarādīni yathāśaktyā samarpayet

120. O beloved, one should never approach a king, a deity, or a guru with empty hands, but should offer fruits, flowers, garments, and other things according to one's ability.
