वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-17, verse-29

ममैव नूनं मरणं न विद्यते न चावकाशो ऽस्ति यमक्षये मम ।
यदन्तको ऽद्यैव न मां जिहीर्षति प्रसह्य सिंहो रुदतीं मृगीमिव ॥२९॥
29. mamaiva nūnaṃ maraṇaṃ na vidyate na cāvakāśo'sti yamakṣaye mama ,
yadantako'dyaiva na māṃ jihīrṣati prasahya siṃho rudatīṃ mṛgīmiva.
29. mama eva nūnam maraṇam na vidyate na
ca avakāśaḥ asti yama-kṣaye mama
yat antakaḥ adya eva na mām jihīrṣati
prasahya siṃhaḥ rudatīm mṛgīm iva
29. nūnam mama maraṇam eva na vidyate ca mama yama-kṣaye avakāśaḥ na asti.

29. Certainly, my death does not exist, nor is there a place for me in the realm of Yama (Death). This is because Death (antaka) himself does not forcibly desire to take me even today, just as a lion would [take] a weeping doe.
