वरोऽपि पात्रमादाय वामे पाणौ निधाय च ।
दक्षाङ्गुष्ठानामिकाभ्यां प्राणाहुत्युक्तमन्त्रकैः ॥२३९॥

239. The groom also, having taken the vessel and placed it in his left hand, (should touch it) with the thumb and ring finger of his right hand, using the mantras prescribed for the prāṇāhuti offerings.
