महानिर्वाण-तन्त्रम्       mahānirvāṇa-tantram - chapter-1, verse-32

त्यक्तुं कर्तुं न चार्हन्ति सदा कातरचेतसः ।
वेदार्थयुक्तशास्त्राणि स्मृतिरूपाणि भूतले ॥३२॥
32. tyaktuṁ kartuṁ na cārhanti sadā kātaracetasaḥ ,
vedārthayuktaśāstrāṇi smṛtirūpāṇi bhūtale.

vedārthayuktaśāstrāṇi smṛtirūpāṇi bhūtale

32. Being constantly faint-hearted, they were neither able to abandon nor to practice the śāstras in the form of smṛtis, which are connected with the meaning of the Vedas upon the earth.
