कुलार्णव-तन्त्रम्       kulārṇava-tantram - chapter-1, verse-50

जीवस्तृणजलौकेव देहाद्देहान्तरं व्रजेत् ।
सम्प्राप्य परमंशेन देहं त्यजति पूर्वजम् ॥५०॥
50. jīvastṛṇajalaukeva dehāddehāntaraṁ vrajet ,
samprāpya paramaṁśena dehaṁ tyajati pūrvajam.
50. jīvaḥ tṛṇajalaukā iva dehāt dehāntaram vrajet
samprāpya param aṃśena deham tyajati pūrvajam
50. jīvaḥ tṛṇajalaukā iva dehāt dehāntaram vrajet,
aṃśena param (deham) samprāpya pūrvajam deham tyajati
50. Just like a leech on a blade of grass, the individual soul moves from one body to another; only after firmly grasping the next body with a portion of itself does it let go of the previous one.
