आत्मभिश्चतुरस्रं तद्विज्ञेयं वीरवन्दिते ।
आत्मानो वेदसंख्या हि ज्ञातव्या देशिकोत्तमैः ॥२॥

2. ātmabhiścaturasraṁ tadvijñeyaṁ vīravandite ,
ātmāno vedasaṁkhyā hi jñātavyā deśikottamaiḥ.

vīra-vandite tat caturasram ātmanbhiḥ vijñeyam
ātmānaḥ hi veda-saṅkhyāḥ deśika-uttamaiḥ jñātavyāḥ

2. O you who are praised by heroes, that square shape is to be understood through the individual selves. Indeed, the individual selves are known by the foremost gurus as corresponding in number to the Vedas.
