महानिर्वाण-तन्त्रम्       mahānirvāṇa-tantram - chapter-8, verse-55

त्रसेद्द्वेष्टुरपि क्षुद्रात् समयं वीक्ष्य बुद्धिमान् ।
प्रदर्शयेदात्मभावान्नैव धर्मं विलङ्घयेत् ॥५५॥
55. traseddveṣṭurapi kṣudrāt samayaṁ vīkṣya buddhimān ,
pradarśayedātmabhāvānnaiva dharmaṁ vilaṅghayet.

55. A wise person should be cautious even of a mean enemy, waiting for the right opportunity. He should manifest his true disposition, but he should never transgress dharma.
