महानिर्वाण-तन्त्रम्       mahānirvāṇa-tantram - chapter-8, verse-172

स्वभावात् कलिजन्मानः कामविभ्रान्तचेतसः ।
तद्रूपेण न जानन्ति शक्तिं सामान्यबुद्धयः ॥१७२॥
172. svabhāvāt kalijanmānaḥ kāmavibhrāntacetasaḥ ,
tadrūpeṇa na jānanti śaktiṁ sāmānyabuddhayaḥ.

tat-rūpeṇa na jānanti śaktiṃ sāmānya-buddhayaḥ
172. svabhāvāt kali-janmānaḥ kāma-vibhrānta-cetasaḥ
sāmānya-buddhayaḥ tat-rūpeṇa śaktim na jānanti
172. Due to their nature, born in the Kali age, with minds bewildered by desire and possessing ordinary intellects, they do not recognize the śakti in that form.
