कुलार्णव-तन्त्रम्       kulārṇava-tantram - chapter-1, verse-17

ततश्चाप्युत्तमं जन्म लब्ध्वा चेन्द्रियसौष्ठवम् ।
न वेत्त्यात्महितं यस्तु स भवेत् आत्मघातकः ॥१७॥
17. tataścāpyuttamaṁ janma labdhvā cendriyasauṣṭhavam ,
na vettyātmahitaṁ yastu sa bhavet ātmaghātakaḥ.
17. tataḥ ca api uttamam janma labdhvā ca indriya-sauṣṭhavam
na vetti ātma-hitam yaḥ tu saḥ bhavet ātma-ghātakaḥ
17. yaḥ tu tataḥ ca api uttamam janma indriya-sauṣṭhavam ca
labdhvā ātma-hitam na vetti saḥ ātma-ghātakaḥ bhavet
17. Yet he who, even after attaining an exalted human birth and the strength of his senses, does not understand what is good for his own self, is a destroyer of himself.
