yasya kasyāpi na deyā,
prāṇapradāyine nirmalāya svabhaktāya prāṇebhyo api adhikāya ca deyā

52. (It) should not be given to just anyone, (but) it must be given to one who preserves life, to the pure, to one's own devotee, and to one who is dearer even than life.
